Formal assessment occurs in each subject area throughout the year.  Our assessment policy aims to improve teaching, assist students in achieving the highest standards within their own capabilities and provide timely and meaningful feedback to parents/guardians on student achievements through regular reports.

Senior assessment

Assessment in Senior Schooling is developed and quality assured in partnership with the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA). To ensure Academic Integrity and Equity each school develops school Assessment Policies and Procedures.

Details of all our school policies can be found in the Rules and policies section of our website.

Educational Adjustments due to disability, impairment and/or long-term medical conditions

The QCAA recognises that some students have disability, impairment and/or medical conditions,

or experience other circumstances that may be a barrier to their performance in assessment.

Access arrangements and reasonable adjustments (AARA) are designed to assist these students.

Students who have disability, impairment and/or long-term medical conditions may apply to the QCAA for approval for Reasonable Adjustments to assessment conditions. If your student requires reasonable adjustments, please contact our Deputy Principal-Inclusive Practices to discuss eligibility and application processes. Applications for Year 12 assessment must be completed prior to term 3 of Year 11.

Missed exams and Extensions to Due Dates

Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 may require Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments (AARA) due to short term absence.

Students requiring a change of due date for an assessment or exam may apply using an AARA Application Form.

  • To be considered, an AARA Application Form must be submitted at a minimum of 2 days before the due date (where possible).
  • The granting of AARA is at the discretion of the QCAA, the Principal, Principal's delegate and approved only:
    1. When the student successfully meets eligibility criteria; and
    2. The student's circumstance provides a barrier for the student to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in their assessment.
