Earlier this year, KSC's High Capacity students had the opportunity to participate in the Australian History and Geography Competitions. Our students did a phenomenal job, with many going above and beyond:
The Geography Competiton results are as follows: Year 7s, Denise Pajarillo and Jye Buchanan, received credits. In Year 8, Kaitlynn Mammino received a credit and Alicia Caldwell received a distinction. The Year 9s who received a credit are Lachlan McKay-Fulton, Tanja Nenadovic and Colby Dennien, and Paige Garland received a distinction, which places her as one of the top achievers in the country.
The History Competition results are even more promising. Evy Page and Venus Gamido in Year 7 received merits, as did James Woodlock, Tye-Liam New Malone and Bailey Marshman in Year 8, while Joanna Gamido received a credit and Alicia Caldwell received a distinction. In Year 9, merits were awarded to Quartamayne Taka-Hapi, Lachlan McKay-Fulton, Hayley Hiltunen, Amber Florussen, Chanel Drescher and Jack Bukuru - Heidi Boddington and Tanja Nenadovic both took home credits. Last but not least, the Year 10s who received merit awards are Krystie Ford, Elizabeth Kelly, Shannon Moloney, Lah Ku Sein, Taryn Strong, Angus Welk and Alexander Whittingslow. While both Dylan Taylor and Damian Peebles went a step above and received credit awards, Danita Devi took home the top prize with a distinction.
This is a huge number of students excelling - it's wonderful to see our High Capacity students progressing with pride.
