As we approach the middle of the term, I would like to introduce the idea of consistency of effort over intensity.

Consistency of effort means that we do the little things we need to do every day to achieve a long-term goal.

I have a goal to learn to play the guitar - I know that practicing chord changes for 5 minutes a day (consistently) yields a far better result than doing two hours of practice (intensity)  once a fortnight ( I have found you just get sore finger tips…)

Want to learn to dance? Show up every day to rehearse Want to get fitter?  Do a small effort every day and increase the effort slowly.

Want to do well at school? Attend every lesson every day and participate.

When it comes to learning at school - consistency of attendance is the most basic contribution to improving our learning. Consistently revising our work yields far better results that intensely "cramming" before an assessment due date

Consistency of effort will generate greater, more sustained improvements than sporadic intense efforts.

Our year 12's are currently in their final external exam period. their teachers have prepared them well, we wish them the best of luck for the next three weeks.
